ESOTERIC BARGA

Event

Nestled between the Apuan Alps and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, Barga safeguards ancient mysteries and sacred symbols that become even more fascinating during the Christmas season.

Its Cathedral, built on an ancient observatory, reveals unique celestial secrets: during the double-sunset phenomenon on Monte Forato, the light passes through the mountain’s natural arch to illuminate Saint Christopher—the dogheaded saint linked to the star Sirius. This special Christmas experience weaves together history, astronomy, and spirituality, inviting us to discover the “gates of light” and the hidden mysteries of this sacred city during the time of year when the symbolism of rebirth is strongest.

At the end of the excursion, guests may add an aperitif at the 16thcentury Capretz loggia, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
