More quality concerts at the BargaJazz Festival in the evocative setting of the gardens of Villa Moorings throughout the week.

Tuesday 23 presentation of the album Are You Standard? With Dimitri Grechi Espinoza on sax, Roberto Cecchetto on guitar, Stefano Onorati on piano and Alessandro Fabbri on drums. The album was recorded over 15 years ago in the theater of Barga but remained in the drawer for many years and was released only in 2022 for the Caligola Records label.

Wednesday 24 again an exceptional concert with Pietro Tonolo on sax, Dario Deidda on double bass and George Rossy on drums.

Thursday 25 protagonist the European trio of trombonist Filippo Vignato with Yannick Lestra on fender rhodes and Attila Gyarfas on drums.

On 26 and 27 August the XXXIII arrangement and composition competition for jazz orchestra will take place. 

The competition, born in 1986, sees the participation of composers from all over Europe every year and for 2022 is dedicated to the music of JOHN SURMAN. Surman himself, with the Barga Jazz orchestra conducted by Mario Raja, will perform the finalist pieces on the two evenings. The singer Sara Maghelli will present the evenings.
