Il Ciocco (Lu) is not really a revolution, but certainly it is an important change that of the tricolor rally. Starting from the name, which becomes the Italian Absolute Rally Championship Sparco, abbreviated C.I.A.R. Sparco, with the confirmation of the "title sponsor" also for the 2022 season.  Once again, as a consolidated tradition, it will be the Il Ciocco and Valle del Serchio rally, edition number 45, to inaugurate the most important and prestigious Italian rally series, always in March, even if, this year, slightly anticipated, to 4 and 5 March, compared to previous editions.

Registrations will open on February 3rd and will close on Wednesday 23rd.

We mentioned the significant changes of the C.I.A.R. Sparco 2022, which will have the first test bench at the Il Ciocco and Valle del Serchio rally. The main changes of the Italian series concern the calendar, which includes seven races (one less than 2021), entirely composed of races on asphalt surfaces. The total mileage of the special stages has also been increased, which must have a minimum of 120 km. Within the C.I.A.R. Sparco 2022, the Italian Rally Promotion Championship (the former C.I.R.A. of last year), reserved for "unofficial" drivers, and most of the most important promotional single-brand Trophies will be articulated. The media and television presence will be enhanced and the interesting prize pool of 2021 will be confirmed.

In short, the tricolor rally that starts with the 45th Il Ciocco and Valle del Serchio rally has all the premises for a season, once again, exciting and competitive.

The Il Ciocco and Valle del Serchio rally always has a great technical value which, combined with a suggestive landscape and the fact that it takes place in an area with a high rate of rally passion, make the race that takes place between Garfagnana and Media Valle, an eagerly awaited and prestigious event for the Italian Rally Championship.

Organization Sport Events is hard at work to translate into practice the many innovations of C.I.A.R. Sparco 2022. "It will be a "Ciocco" a little longer than that of 2021.- explains Valerio Barsella, deus ex machina of the Tuscan race - The two stages are scheduled on Friday and Saturday, with the first novelty that will be the television Power Stage. This will be one of the three tests on Friday and will be held, an important novelty, on a course outside the Il Ciocco Estate. On Saturday there will be nine tests scheduled. Among these, a special stage that has not been held for over fifteen years will be repeated. Departures and arrivals of the stage and service park will all be located within the Il Ciocco Estate. This year will also be the third edition in the "Covid-19 era" of our race. In the last two editions, the close synergy with ACI Sport and the Rally Commission, combined with the strong will of O.S.E. Organization Sport Events, have been fundamental to overcome all the difficulties related to the pandemic, managing to stage, successfully, the "Ciocco".This will also be the case for the 2022 edition, a Il Ciocco and Valle del Serchio rally in the name of the Super Green Pass, as per the provisions of the General Protocol for the Contrast and Containment of the Spread of the Covid19 Virus in Motorsport".

TWELVE SPECIAL STAGES OF THICKNESS AND TELEVISION POWER STAGE OUTSIDE THE ESTATE, FOR THE "CIOCCO" 2022.

Three special stages scheduled for the afternoon of Friday 4 March, with the first stage that will start at 2.10 pm from Il Ciocco Pattinaggio, with arrival scheduled at 6.15 pm at Il Ciocco Parking 2. Among these three specials, the television Power Stage that will be held, an unprecedented event for the Il Ciocco rally in recent years, on a route outside the Il Ciocco Estate.

The second stage will start on Saturday 5 March at 8.30 am, arriving at 5.00 pm, always inside the Il Ciocco estate, after having played nine special stages, four to be repeated twice and once three times.

Reduced route for the "Ciocco" version CRZ Coppa Rally di Zona, with maximum coefficient of validity, which will take place entirely on Saturday 5 March, on a route that includes the last six special stages of the day.

THE VALIDITY OF THE 45TH RALLY IL CIOCCO AND VALLE DEL SERCHIO

Opening test of the C.I.A.R. Sparco 2022, both for Drivers and Manufacturers, Absolute and Two Wheel Drive, with four distinct titles, the Il Ciocco e Valle del Serchio rally will be valid for the C.I.R.P. Sparco, which also includes a title for the Two Wheel Drive, for the Italian R1 Championship, for the most important Single-brand Trophies,  that converge on the most important sporting stage, for the ACI Sport Cups, up for grabs both in the CIAR and in the CIRP.

It will also be the opening round of the 2022 Zone Rally Cup for Zone 6 with a coefficient of 1.5.

Another, new and stimulating validity for the Il Ciocco 2022 rally is that for the Open N5 Trophy, reserved for cars in this category, with excellent performance and low costs, a series for which the "Ciocco" will have the maximum coefficient 4.
