From March 27 to 29, 2026, the roads of Garfagnana and the Media Valle will roar with the engines of the 49th Rally Il Ciocco and Valle del Serchio, the season opener of the 2026 Italian Rally Championship Sparco. A historic event on the eve of its 50th anniversary, the rally is one of Italy’s most iconic, born from the passion of pioneers Guelfo Marcucci and Sirio Pietro Quaroni.
The 2026 edition introduces key regulatory changes: the event will run over two days with around 142 km of special stages, concluding on Sunday with a Power Stage awarding bonus points and adding extra excitement to the finish. Saturday morning’s shakedown allows crews to test their cars before the official start in the afternoon.

The start ceremony will once again take place in Viareggio, the heart of the Versilia coast, which in 2025 welcomed thousands of fans along the seafront and city center. Viareggio will also host the start and finish of the Coppa Rally di Zona. On Sunday 29 March, the finish line will be in the historic square of Castelnuovo Garfagnana, which will also be the location of the Service Park. The heart of the event remains Tenuta Il Ciocco, which has been the symbol of the race since 1976.

The route features classic stages like “Il Ciocco” and “Careggine” alongside new challenges such as “Calomini” and “Chiozza.” This rally marks the first showdown of the season for crews, teams, and manufacturers, promising thrilling competition and spectacular viewing for fans.

Beyond racing, the event celebrates the region: historic villages, breathtaking landscapes, and local enthusiasm merge with the adrenaline of the stages. Under the expert organization of O.S.E. Organization Sport Events, the 49th Rally Il Ciocco confirms its status as a flagship event in Italian rallying, blending sport, emotion, and tradition.
