Selvaggia, a fair dedicated to wild herbs

From March 26 to April 2, Garfagnana and the Serchio Valley host “Selvaggia”, the fair dedicated to wild herbs, flowers and buds: from salad burnet to cornflower to plants retained “magical”.

An occasion to learn to recognize them and use them for cooking but also as remedies and decorations.

The event and its many initiatives is an original idea of Dr. Fabrizio Diolaiuti and sees the involvement of school students and professional experts in the field.

Wednesday, March 29 at 10.30 am, the appointment is in the Estate of the Il Ciocco in Castelvecchio Pascoli, for herbs collecting in the Park followed by a lesson at Il Ciocco Studios entitled “Erbe spontanee e Cucina” (Wild herbs and cooking). Students from Hotel Management School of Barga will be present, together with Luca Landi, Michelin star chef, and the University Professor Stefano Benvenuti.

Wednesday, March 29 at 10.30 am, Il Ciocco, Castelvecchio Pascoli, “Erbe spontanee e Cucina” (Wild herbs and cooking)

Thursday, March 30 at 10.30 am, Careggine, Elementary schools, “Erbe spontanee tra favole e realtà” (Wild herbs between fairy tales and reality)

Friday, March 31 at 10.30 am, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Elementary schools, “Alla scoperta degli erbi della Nonna” (Discovering Grandma’s herbs)

Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2, starting at 10 am, Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Piazza delle Erbe and historic center, Markets, Excursions, Seminars and important Guests including Marco Columbro, the Top Chef Masaki Kuroda, the Michelin star chef Cristiano Tomei and the naturopath Marco Pardini.
