Hard enduro at Il Ciocco
Woods, rocks, amazing and spectacular flights, fording and above all plenty of adrenaline are the undisputed protagonists of Hell’s Gate Metzeler 2015, the long awaited international hard enduro race, this Saturday, February 14th at Il Ciocco.
With more than 120 riders from all over the world – Europe, New Zealand, USA and South Africa are among the 16 nations represented - this 12th edition of the Fabio Fasola event is reconfirmed again this year an event with international appeal.
Among the participants: British rider Graham Jarvis, class of ’75, four time winner and undisputed king of Hell’s Gate; Johnny Walker, the brothers Dan and Ben Hemingway, Andreas Lettenbichler, Alfredo Gomez Cantero and the Italians Maurizio Lenzi, Piero Sembenini, Diego Nicoletti.
It all begins on Saturday morning with the elimination heats and the first 30 pilots that make it will go on to the finals in the afternoon. The road to hell is a tough one - a 40 km round in the morning, repeated 4 times, and a special stage (selection race) and a 25 km round in the afternoon, repeated 5 times (the finals) - traversing the toughest terrains, as the crowd carries you up the hill to the craziest finish line in the world, Hell's Peak!
The following day, Sunday, February 15th , is open to enduro enthusiast who want to give it a try with the “Ride to Hell”, third edition of Hell’s Gate Lite, with the participation of more than three times as many pilots than last year reaching the 300 number.
