Giandomenico Basso wins the 36th edition of the Ciocco Rally
The winner of the 36th edition of the Il Ciocco and Valle del Serchio Rally is Giandomenico Basso, from Treviso, already European and Italian Rally Champion. He won with the Peugeot 207 S2000 after two days of confrontation with some of the best drivers of the peninsula such
as Alessandro Perico (Peugeot 207 S2000) who finished second,
Umberto Scandola came in third with the Skoda Fabia S2000 and Luca Rossetti (Mitsubishi), three time European Rally Champion, one time Italian and last year Turkish, finished with a fourth place classification.
Lorenzo Bertelli with the fascinating Ford Fiesta RRC took fifth place hands down, adding a touch of “glamour” to the Ciocco Rally while his parents, Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli kept a watchful eye on the race.
Among the beautiful aspects of the 2013 Ciocco Rally was the starting
point from Forte dei Marmi, the pre-race tests at Camaiore and the unraveling of the event in the suggestive mountainous scenery of the
Valle del Serchio. The spectacular setting of the Porta Ariostesca of Castelnuovo Garfagnana, was the perfect setting for the arrival of one of the most apreciated and popular races creating a perfect post-card effect.
