Tradition, tastings and solidarity are on the calendar this weekend in the Serchio Valley.
From Saturday, December 6th to the 8th , the streets of Barga will be
filled with the Christmas spirit with Barga Chocolate! The historical
center of the town will host master chocolatiers from all over Italy. Three days of tastings of various types of chocolate, from the more traditional recipes to the audacious experimental kind.

On the same weekend Castelnuovo Garfagnana will host the traditional festival dedicated to the DOP (Denominations of Origin) Garfagnana chestnut flower will take place. For Castelnuovo Città della Castagna (Citty of the Chestnut), necci, roasted chestnuts and something for
everyone in piazza Umberto. From Thursday, December 4th to the 8th, the restaurants of the town will propose themed menus for the occasion. The event will take place even in case of rain.
Saturday, December 6th, the torches will be lit in Gallicano for the 35th edition of the Torchlight Procession of the Serchio Valley, an
evocative event whose proceeds will, as always, go to charity. From 2pm, stalls, shows and music will precede the traditional procession through the streets of the town.
