The world of international art mourns the loss of a giant
The local community has been deeply touched by the loss of John Bellany, one of the most influential painters since the Second World War.
Bellany was born in Port Seton in Scotland, 71 years ago. He divided his time between international exhibits and the city of Barga. He loved the city for its people, its food and its climate, but most of all for its timelessness.
The Il Ciocco wishes to express our deepest condolences to family, friends and to all who knew him and had the opportunity to appreciate the artist, the man.
“Life was his passion and he painted as if each day was his last”.
