Our heartfelt congratulations to our collaborator Gabriele da Prato of the Podere Concòri!
Our heartfelt congratulations to our collaborator Gabriele da Prato (in the photo, standing, third from left) of the Podere Concòri farmstead in Gallicano, in the province of Lucca!
Gabriele received the “Benemeriti della Vitivinicoltura Italiana” prize for the Region of Tuscany from Italian President Sergio Mattarella, awarded in conjunction with the 50th edition of Vinitaly, taking place on Sunday, April 10, in Verona.
The prestigious recognition – that starting from this year is dedicated to Angelo Betti, creator in the 1960s of what has become one of the major trade shows on a European level – is traditionally bestowed pursuant to a proposal by regional councilors throughout Italy to those who have contributed to and sustained the progress of quality in Italian winemaking.
Da Prato’s company was chosen by the Region as “symbol of the product’s excellence and of its bond with the context it is part of – Garfagnana and the Serchio Valley: a difficult area due to the characteristics of the territory, a particularity that confer a “heroic” trait to vine growing and winemaking".
