"Perhaps the illness will stop me, but in the meantime, I’ll take it for a stroll".
The Il Ciocco also grieves the death of documentarian Pierluca Rossi, who passed on January 23rd at San Luca Hospital in Lucca.
Pierluca was affected by multiple sclerosis but this did not stop him. He travelled worldwide speaking about his condition in his videos and photojournalism, originally from Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and known throughout all of Italy, he left us at the age of 54.
He was a beautiful person. Intense, never dull, with many stories to share. His travel schedule had changed recently; a few less adventures with a few extra hours of rest and a cooler filled with interferon, which he could not do without. His stories, his personal story, of strength and will.
The Il Ciocco had the pleasure of collaborating with him during the 2014 Autumn Festival.
In 2014 the Festival hosted “Visions & Ultrasounds”, concerts and video projections of images that Pierluca had filmed during his 30 years of travels around the world. The purpose of this project was to raise funds for the realization of paper guides which outlined how to visit the major Italian Art Cities on a wheelchair. This initiative was to educate people on a topic very dear to him, that of architectural barriers.
