The Ciocco Rally

In 1979/80, the Ciocco Rally consolidated its importance, also at international level, acquiring validity for the European Championship. The Italian Championship of the 1981 Rally is recalled as one of the most fought-over ever, particularly for the open challenge between the Fiat and Opel teams, a duel in which the unforgettable Attilio Bettega forcefully entered, winning with great authority with the official white-blue 131. The last edition of the exhausting ‘mixed’ land and asphalt version of the Ciocco rally was in 1981.
